Dearcolleagues,IamChristophDiener,aneurologistfromtheUniversityofEsseninGermany.Mytopictodayistheprognosisoftransientischemicattack(TIA)andminorstroke.Letmeremindyouthatthesepatientshavearelativelyhighriskforrecurrentstrokeoracardiovascularevent.TherearedatafrombetweenandshowingthatpeoplewhohadaTIAorminorstrokehadariskofhavinganischemicstrokeoranacutecoronaryeventwithinthenext3monthssomewherebetween12%and20%.[1,2]ThiswasreinvestigatedbytheTIAregistry.orginvestigatorswhorecentlypublishedtheirfindingsintheNewEnglandJournalofMedicine.
